It's a sad day when South Park's movie gets higher ratings than this. This is a masterpiece of stupid films. Mike Judge is a genius in the art of idiocy. In fact, just watch "Idiocracy" and you've summed up my view on the world. Mike Judge is a cult director, but this seems to be his most recognized film, being that it's based after an incredibly popular TV show.

This film isn't just a stupid comedy. It's much more. Let's go through everything that this film is:

1.A stupid comedy.

Yes, it's stupid. Yes, it's funny. It's a movie that does not try too hard to be funny. Its humor is based off of the characters' preset personalities. Beavis is the stupider one, and Butthead is the less stupid one. Their only goals in life are to score, watch TV, and participate in various acts of violence and defiance. In this film, TV is the starting factor, then their compulsion to score takes over. The whole film is nothing but stupid humor, and guys couldn't ask for much more (seriously, if you are a dude and don't like this movie, there is something wrong with you).

2.Proof of potential.

The TV series was just them talking crap on music videos and episodes that are just about 5 minutes in length. How could this be a movie? That's what it was. The movie became great on the fact that it proved that even the shortest of TV shows had movie potential. At the same time, it showed that Beavis and Butthead were capable of having a larger scale.

3.One of the greatest studies for amateur cartoonists.

Seriously, could South Park have even been made without Beavis and Butthead? This movie is really the reason that Family Guy, South Park, and the various Adult Swim shows even exist. That and The Simpsons, which also proved that amateur animation can make good TV. This movie came long before a Simpsons movie, and seems to be the first feature length movie I can find of this style... Satirical cartoons. South Park came later and showed everybody how to be "offensive", but Beavis and Butthead had them taking drugs through a condom and sniffing stove gas. This movie is not particularly offensive, but that's what made it so good, which gets me to my next point:

4.Proof of subtlety over flagrancy.

Sometimes movies can be funny without swearing every 2 seconds. This film manages to be funny on the basis of it's characters and their idiot dialogue, not based on the amount of profane words within their idiot dialogue. This film has style in that it can get a point across that these people are stupid without making them swearing. Swearing can make or break a film. It made Idiocracy for me, and it broke South Park. Beavis and Butthead are just bad people that you like because they are so pathetic. South Park makes me think the same thing about the creators, WITHOUT the "like" part. (Don't get me wrong, I share the same birthday with Matt Stone).
