The problem with this live action is that they went so big so every scene that the story got lost in the grand sets, CGI, and spectacular musical numbers. Less is always more. I thought the added backstories were smart and the new songs lovely but I felt the creators didn't take enough advantage of exploring those allies.
In addition, auto tune? Give me a break. A disappointment but a fun time nevertheless.
