I actually loved this remake. Nothing is as good as the original. However, I believe this is pretty close to the animated version. The outcry of a gay character in this movie was much ado about nothing.

LeFou had feminine characteristics, but nothing obvious. Overall, I felt the casting was right on point as far as Gaston, Maurice and Beast. I do agree that Jack Black would have made the perfect LeFou though! Emma Watson did her best, but unfortunately for most people, she will always be Hermione from Harry Potter.
