Review of Beauty and the Beast (2017) by Jp H — 31 Mar 2017
How a REMAKE SHOULD BE DONE. Honor the original and go by it's outline, and do a little bit of new stuff. This movie has great characterization and story. The characterization goes deeper than before and they add a little more to the story.
Only 2 problems, both forced. Emma Watson didn't seem right for the role though she's a great actress she'll always be Hermione and they attempt to be politically correct by adding a few black actors. In the times Beauty and the Beast was written in there probably wouldn't be many black OR other minorities in that past environment. YET do they bother to put OTHER MINORITIES other than black in the film? So it really doesn't make sense to just place 1 minority in a film if you're trying to be politically correct towards equality. ALL TYPES OF MINORITIES should be included. Heck, they had a gay couple even so why not other minorities? Unacknowledged PREJUDICE and discrimination, which is institutionalized prejudice in this case in Hollywood. Maybe all minorities need to have uprisings to get things equal lol. It seems otherwise the world is always against those that don't cause problems and just try to work hard. Other than those minor things great movie.
