Review of Beauty and the Beast (2017) by Light H — 03 Aug 2017
I went into this movie with very high expectations which is never a good idea. I didn't think it could ever be as good as I hoped it would. However, it not only met, but exceeded my expectations. Let me say that it was very similar to the original, so if that is a turnoff for you for some reason, don't watch it.
Also, the complaints about the casting of Emma Watson as Belle are very unfounded. Emma Watson was the perfect casting and I can't imagine anyone else being as good as she was. The music was beautiful, especially Be Our Guest.
They somehow were able to make it just as good as the original. Overall, this movie was incredible and nearly perfect. However, they did not take any risks and stayed as close to the original as they could.
I would've liked a little ambition, but there wasn't much they could've changed. One more thing, the controversial gay moment that was talked about, to supporters, you may be disappointed, to opposers, it wasn't nearly big enough to avoid seeing it.
