Review of Beauty and the Beast (2017) by Karissa H — 26 May 2017

The cartoon will always be my favorite! But it was good to see this beloved Disney classic revamped for a new generation. I did not particularly care for Emma Watson's portrayal of Belle. To me she came across as very stiff and aloof.

Belle to me was always been a woman who is gentle and kind albeit very smart. Emma did not have the sweetness or whilst of cartoon Belle. Likewise the beast was much less beastly than the cartoon version, but Gaston, Lefou and the household staff are dead ringers for their cartoon counterparts and that makes this little gem worth seeing.
