Beauty and the Beast was Disney magic; it really sweeps you away. Great characters, performances, music and costumes brought the classic story back to life. I'd still recommend the animated version over this one though: the inconsistent, obvious autotune Emma Watson's voice does take you out of the spectacle a little, and her accent was shaky too.

Many of Beauty and the Beast's settings looked very much like film sets rather than real places, and the film did assume a fair bit of knowledge of the story. Hardcore Disney fans won't be too disappointed.
