Review of Beauty and the Beast (1991) by Melissa S — 13 Apr 2012
A magical tale about a book worm longing for adventure and a beast living with living furniture. I grew up with this movie and it never manages to lose any charm.
To me, it is possibly one of Disney's best family movies. By this I mean that it really doesn't go over the line of being cheesy and childish like some of their movies. I understand that Disney aims for child audiences, but they didn't overdue anything with this film.
The music is absolutely catchy and beautiful. I still find myself singing some of the songs most notably "Be Our Guest" and "Beauty and the Beast".
The characters are all very distinct. Each is amusing in their own way and you can't help but fall for every one of them.
I will definitely have my son grow up watching this movie as well!
