Review of Beauty and the Beast (1991) by Shawn T — 19 Jun 2012
This is one of those movies that entertained me during my childhood and it still entertains me as an adult. Actually my experiance every time I watch when I get older, it just gets better and better! Not often do I hear movie with such an effect.
Watching it again, I now have the chance to write my review for it.
This Is what I would say would be one of Disney's sparkling diamonds, it strikes all chords of fantasy. It is also my favorite of Disney's creations.
It has story telling to a level where you can actually reach to it as it develops continued to develop. Everything in here seems well-balanced and flowed very smoothly. The interactions of all characters, the changes and reactions fit nicely. A Villian is created not due to being just evil, but by being humanly obsessed, making him more monster than the Beast, this really creates a lot of thought.
Personally, my favorite moments is the Beast's reflection upon himself. Call me a sadist, but seeing him wallow in pessimism really gets me. It's the only window to how he see's everything else, since the Story is leaning toward's Belle's view. His story is told in narrative through stained glass, his reactions through the story are the only hints that reflect the narrative. Than later in the film, romance develops and it begins to change both leading characters.
This is for all ages who want to enjoy a fantasy taught right.
