Beauty and the Beast remains an emotionally moving experience thanks to endearing characters, memorable music and incredible storytelling economy. No scene in the film is superfluous to the story; rather, they all drive the story forward.

..which is something not many films can say. You don't have to look past the sweepingly beautiful ballroom scene which clearly demonstrates how close Belle and the Beast have gotten. From the first shots of the two meeting on the stairs to the grandiose camera moves past chandeliers and following the couple to the culminating moments on top of the castle, Beauty and the Beast was the best movie of 1991.
