Review of Beauty and the Beast (1991) by Jacob G — 21 May 2014
One of the best Disney films of all time, this and Lion King. The quality of the script is as great as it's animation. Not wanting to give much away, the characters have 3-dimensional personalities and you really feel what they feel.
Belle isn't just your typical "girl wanting a man". In fact, she hates the beast at first. But the relationship develops at a natural rate. They may connect in the first few months, but you have to realized that they are both stuck in a castle with each other.
And then there's the villain, Gaston. Gaston is pretty much the town hot-shot and is used to getting everything he wants. He even organizes a wedding before he proposes (than again, it is the 17th century so.
..) He doesn't really interact with the beast until the end of course, finding out Belle likes the beast more than himself. He is a great villain for a love story like this. I'm not going to say much for now, but this will be updated.
