Review of Beauty and the Beast (1991) by Rema R — 06 Nov 2012
By far my favorite of the Disney Princess movies, Belle, the main character, is a very intelligent and headstrong girl who loves her father as much as she does daydreaming. That is something I identify with a lot! All of the side characters are oversimplified but highly entertaining and one can sit back and enjoy all of those details added in just for the parent's benefit! I love a great romance and a happy ending so I have no complaint with the cheesiness at the end but it is interesting to note, in the original plan there was to be much more violence that was cut by people higher up the food-chain.
It may not be the most complex or involved of movies but it is definitely a classic well worth watching!
