Review of Beautiful Thing (1996) by Daniel O — 12 Jan 2009
Lovely (and very english) movie about the discovery of being gay and how to come out with dignity, and fighting all prejudices and family problems. Still, the movie is very slow, without any "touching" scene and sometimes extremely odd.
The best is, indeed, the beautiful innocence of the two teenagers falling in love, very believable, and the mother's role. Very worth seeing indeed, but at the end you feel like there's something missing, an incomplete piece.
