Review of Beautiful Lies (2010) by David K — 13 Aug 2011

I really enjoyed this little film. I steer well clear of Hollywood Rom-coms, the cliched, set pieces do my head in,but French films always seem to be able to laugh at love with dignity (at least the ones I see).

Gently funny and beautiful, this was the perfect antedote to the Super Hero/Comic Book overdose I've experienced recently.

Yes, the plot is implausible,(isn't that always the way with farce?) and the ending, from the Maddy/Jean dinner scene onwards seemed to have been thought up at the last minute, but overall, it's charming and definitely worth seeing.
