This is hard one.
First of all, I didn't think this story is about something like "brother loves his sister" one.
It might makes some people feel same way as a main character Ned, or Kate, but I just felt uncomfortable with it.
Still good aussie film thou.
By the way, Bryan Brown's acting is amazing.
