Review of Beautiful Kate (2009) by Annisa Z — 07 Oct 2009

I just don't get what all the fuss is about. Another depressing, outback-set, family drama, Aussie movie. None of the characters are likeable (possible exception would be Rachel Griffith's character, but she's hardly in it), the story is boring, there's just nothing new.

It's not that I feel offended by any "confronting" issues -- I loved Mysterious Skin -- but nothing ever delivered an impact. I just kind of sat there waiting for it to finish.
