Review of Beautiful Girls (1996) by Jacek S — 19 May 2008
Despite its missed, somewhat silly title, Ted Demme's "Beautiful Girls" offers a natural acting and wonderful dialogue and in this case it seems enough to stay with it for 2 hours. It goes slowly without much purpose, only to present couple of lives at end of their twenties and even though it's not insightful in any way at the end leaving us with a question "what really happend here?", it's truthful with all its small town's problems in which nothing changes and everyone knows everybody too well and strangely moving by managing to make it universal.
Perfect for slow Sunday afternoon over a couple of beers.
