Beautiful Girls explores the lives of various small town characters lives and how each of them feels trapped, whether in a town, in a career, or in a relationship. Over the course of the movie, some of these trappings endure, some of them are resolved, and still others are revealed, not as traps at all, but as the result of the character's life choices.
