Review of Beautiful Girls (1996) by Yunita W — 08 Sep 2007
Chances are you havent seen this movie. Probability is, you'd like it. It's got lots of star names, but Michael Rappaport(from E4's The War At Home) steals the show, as he does in everything he's in.
The story? Man goes back to his home town to see his friends, before his impending wedding. While there he remembers why he loved the place, but also is reminded of why he had to get out. It's been done again recently in other films(Garden State,Elizabethtown), but this is undoubtedly the best of the bunch.
Oh, and a career best performance from a young Natalie Portman. Directed by the late Ted Demme, who was responsible for the wonderful 'Blow'.
