Review of Beautiful Creatures (2013) by Scott A — 15 Jun 2013
Okay, I never read the book, so I am only basing my thoughts on the film itself. They say it's the new Twilight, only with witches, and I can agree to a degree. The main difference is that the acting is far better here. The two leads have great chemistry, and all the bigger names turn in great performances; especially Irons and Rossum!
They nail the down South attitudes and fears of those folk, and the CGI isn't over used like the trailer suggests. And it has a great story and it leaves on a cliffhanger of sorts, leaving you wanting more.
