Sadly, this was a disappointment. I had rather high hopes for it considering the trailer made it look hauntingly amazing! Plus, it had such a talented cast (Jeremy Irons! Viola Davis! Emmy Rossum! Emma Thompson!) In the end, the movie was rather flat and awkward.
Very mediocre, and underdeveloped in parts, and very rushed. The love story was over-emphasized and the magical aspects were almost non-existent. No wonder barely anyone saw it, and the likelihood of a sequel is slim.
What I did like was the Civil War storyline mingled with the supernatural elements.
