Review of Beautiful Creatures (2013) by Garret T — 22 Jun 2013
From the trailer I had envisioned a classy story that I hope would play written my imagination a little, but this movie was for the most part a compete let down save the cinematography and special effects.
The look of the film was a good 90% while the story and acting were only about 10%. That 10% being of course Irons and Thompson, even though they had those damn southern accents. The one part of the movie that threw me off the most! Seeing Martindale was lovely.
I was very annoyed by the love story and all the overly played cliches. Two stars for great set design, camera, and lighting. And two really good actors. This movie should have taken place in London without the insipid hipster beats.
Good idea, bad delivery. Sorry...
