I wasn't going to watch this, but curiousity got the better of me. An effects driven movie that only gets brought down by a mediocre story during those moments. All in all the plot was weak, and the acting by all (except Irons) was ridiculous.

Irons tried hard to hold up any credibility through his efforts, but can only hold his head above water carrying the load. The main plot lines of a coming of age woman interlaced with her love story is soo mundane that the effects have to carry it along.
