Review of Beautiful Creatures (2013) by Ilsa W — 12 Nov 2013
Surprisingly enjoyable. Supposedly aimed at the Twilight generation but this was much better film than Twilight. A super cast including Emma Thompson, Jeremy Irons and Eileen Atkins add a quality feel to what would have otherwise been a standard teen flick.
Having said that, newcomers Alice Englert and Alden Ehrenreich were very very good and had fantastic chemistry. I was particularly impressed with Ehrenreich, who is an unknown to me, he was incredibly likeable and his happiness was quite infectious.
Add some rather pretty special effects and it all adds up to a pretty decent flick. I'd like to see more of this series tho I doubt we every will which is shame as the acting is to a much better standard than Twilight.
