Ethan Wate (Alden Ehrenrich): "Anything is better than a life standing still.".

I really like the cast: Jeremy Irons, Emma Thompson and Viola Davis were dependably good. Emmy Rossum was deliciously vampy but the two main leads, fresh-face Alden Ehrenreich (who played Ethan Wate) and Alice Englert (who plays Lena Duchannes) did splendidly and they performed beautifully, they alone were worth watching this whole movie; especially Ehrenreich who was simply brilliant. I really liked the story, it's the classic struggle of good versus evil. I also love the history of the "Casters" and the different classes and I liked the ending, things work out but not in the traditional, everything ends up "happily ever-after" as seen in Disney-esque films or forced happy endings in other movies, which is good. There was something anime-ish about the way this movie unfolded, which was really interesting. I also like some of the quotes in this film so much that it piqued my interest in the book because if the book has half of the wisdom this film has, then I'd love to read the original source material. Overall, the movie is cool, I really liked it and it wouldn't have been half as credible without the stellar, seasoned supporting cast and the talented and very capable leads.
