Review of Beautiful Creatures (2013) by Aaron M — 23 Feb 2014
Beautiful Creatures feels genuine in places, especially at the very beginning and dips in and out of a very generic fantasy romance. With the likes of twilight in comparison beautiful creatures has a sense of depth and has a relatively solid plot.
Its aided by the casting of Jeremy Irons and Emma Thompson a wise move indeed. Not convinced by the duo of Alden and Alice however there characters are not cheesy nor their relationship fake. However the romance is sudden, but for there dreams it doesn't feel like a complete farce.
I have no idea on the quality of the adaption from the book having not read it but as a very neutral viewer on these types of movies I thought it was done very well but didn't feel like a complete piece as there was much development in a short period of time.
