WHY, RICHARD LAGRAVENESE, WHY?! WHY DID YOU CHANGE THIS SO MUCH FROM THE BOOK?! The Beautiful Creatures books are fascinating stories of magic, romance, ancestry and the past. Read them. They're never sappy for a second.
This movie takes the story, changes EVERYTHING about it, and puts it onscreen. Why? I don't know. You have no idea how frustrated I was watching this. It's a shame, too, because the cast is PERFECT, the special effects are neat, and unlike other YA adaptations, the dialogue ISN'T bad!
