Review of Beautiful Boy (2011) by David M — 06 Jul 2012
A flawed film highlighted by two very brave performances. Following a married couple ok the brink of divorce when there son dies, but not before killing 22 other people in a school shooting. It is anti-dramatic in it's documentary styled approach to creating an ultra real story of loss and devastation.
That means it's very realistic, but at times repetitive, predictable, and boring. It hits every expected note while creating original but unsympathetic characters. It's a worthwhile film, if flawed.
