Review of Beau Brummell (1954) by Scott R — 27 Aug 2013
"I'm absolutely famished, i've had nothing today but a partridge and some miserable scones." this is how Ustinov started the film, a hilarious start to the Elaborate, beautiful and engaging film that was hollywood at its golden age.
Perhaps this is also ustinov's finest performance in telling his relationship with brummel and how they fell apart then later reconciled. Great sets, acting, direction, music and costumes. Granger was great.
Liz taylor was satisfactory, but her accent distracted. I enjoyed the use of the wales plumes insignia throughout the movie.
