Review of Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012) by Sameer K — 10 Feb 2013
Extremely touching, poignant film centered on one really amazing child performance. The rest of the cast -- and story -- are quite paint-by-numbers, trying a little too hard to tug on the heart strings at times.
The fantastical elements don't add anything to the story, but in the end it's still quite touching. Looking forward to seeing more from this director!
