A magically dreamlike experience that plunges you into the deep beauty and candor of childhood coupled with a sharpened view of the world we live in.... Hushpuppy is a reminder of how great a child narrator can be when properly written, and the naive intelligence she showcases reminded me a bit of Scout from "To Kill a Mockingbird".
Add the typical southern charm and some fairy-tale daydreams to this, and you get a timeless masterpiece! The best "discovery" I've made in years!
