Review of Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012) by Taylor C — 19 Mar 2013
Breathtaking. Torn away from the trifles of privileged modern society, this tale tells a stunning portrait of love and growing up, the way nature intended. No other film this year will dig so deeply to your emotional core the way Beasts does.
I really appreciate that in yet such a vast world, only enough story is told to really explore the characters and their growth, instead of making a scope that puts them in the shadows. I beg that this film becomes the cultural phenomenon it deserves to be and that everyone gets to experience and feel the tale of Hushpuppy and the Bathtub the way I did.
