As a social narrative this movie is amazing, as a screen play it falls short. Beast of No Nation has characters and scenes that should be cut, does Abu find his mother? Nope, then why teach the audience about that character. Does Abu contront the Commandant... Not really, then why make him out to be a Pedo..

Overall its a topic that hasn't been touched in movies so its a nice change up, but the structure of the movie, and characters in the movie are weak. Except for Abu, he's a G!
