One of the hardest movies i've watched in a very long time. It's an important story, realistic, bleak, and numbing: African children as fodder in butchery and war. Idris Elba and the young Abraham Attah are rock solid.
Re: #oscarsowhite controversy. This is not Oscar material. Frankly, it is a category of it's own and cannot be compared to Mad Max or other major motion pictures, which are comparatively fluff to this film. Beast of no Nation is a docu drama that would best serve university students studying the subject-matter.
