This is a brutal, unflinching and uncompromising look into the horrors of war while also oddly enough dashing some glimmer of hope in this tragedy. Idris Elba and Abraham Attah are explosive onscreen and Elba especially steals every scene he's in.

it's a very hard to movie to watch, but it's ultimately a rewarding one. it's compelling, visceral, raw and real. a standout film of his year.
