Review of Beastly (2011) by Paras A — 10 Aug 2011
Sure, some of the lines are outdated. Sure, the romance did seem more than a little cheesy at times. And sure, the acting wasn't anything to write home about, but it is fair to say that the traditional plot line of Beauty And The Beast was restored to a point that made it slightly easier to relate to the teen population.
I mean, what hopelessly romantic teeny bopper out there wouldn't want a hunk like Alex Pettifyer to call their boyfriend? We have to admit, it has appealed to that audience quite nicely. Maybe that's why the romantic flick grossed nearly 40 mil.
So, while the plot line was about as deep as a kitty pool, in the end Beastly did the job it was intended to.
