Review of Beastly (2011) by Elizabeth R — 02 Jun 2012
As having read the book like a million times and loving it more each time, I was very excited to see the adaptation. Athough, there were many things about the movie I was disapointed about. First, Lindy.
I think Vanessa was ABSOLUTELY wrong for her. Lindy was average looking, not beautiful like Vanessa. Which helped the moral of the story which was a challenge for Kyle to love someone that wasn't beautiful.
And the dnce was the only time when Kyle ever talked to Lindy until well you know. Second, Kyle. I wsihed he was actually a BEAST in the movie. I liked that about the book. How he was in the movie wasn't even that bad.
Not as bad as a beast. I disn't like how he referred to himself as Hunter. In the book he chose Adrian because it meant "dark one". I think Adrian suites him better anyway. I was also dissapointed in his roses.
In the book his roses were his world and had nothing to do with Lindy, except for the Little Linda ones. The fact that there was no magic mirror dissapointed me as well. I was also dissapointed that the fifth floor scene was not in the movie.
There was also other things that upsetted me about this movie including their snowmen:(, Kyle's love for her, and just many many things. I know this is really long, but it had to be said. And my advice is don't see the movie, but read the book.
It's a Lot better.
