(4/18/12) (DVD) Be Kind Rewind fails as a comedy, as a drama, and as a character piece. The movie has many problems including a terrible plot, weird characters, and a ton of dumb scenes, but that is exactly where it shines.
Be Kind Rewind is not like any other movie I can think of in that it is in no other genre other then itself. No other movie is like this one with how it is done and the plot is so bad you have to laugh.
The idea of remaking every movie you own is a very interesting one as I did the same thing when I was little with my brother. The movie is more about Fats Waller then re doing movies. This movie is fine for what it is just don't go into it expecting to laugh like The Hangover.
