I think the best word to describe this movie would be "annoying." From the start, it's just so quirky and different, and not in a good way. Jack Black rides a thin line between funny and irritating, and in this movie it's the latter.
And it just wasn't funny at all. Then it tries to win the audience over with a touching ending. I wasn't buying it.
