This movie is about teaming up with a people next to you, it is about do it yourself attitude, as in why not do anything you'd like to and why should everything stand out to outside norms that just hold you down in the end.

I see this as some kind of labour of love for movie making, for creativity, for people. It's not clear cut but it's effective. You get amazing peformance by Mia Farrow for instance just because she is teamed up with local amateur actors and is caught off guard.
