Talk about disappointing. I love Get Shorty and I love Elmore Leonard, but this was just bad. Barry Sonnenfeld hit the right mixture of serious and comedy when he directed Get Shorty, a balance Gray is incapable of. The only way they could have made a worse choice for director than the guy responsible for the horrid Italian Job remake is if they asked Brett Ratner or Michael Bay.
Elmore Leonard was no doubt shaking his head in shame when he saw this movie. This travesty is basically a slap in his face.
