Review of Be Cool (2005) by Baylen M — 24 Mar 2009
As far as sequels go, Be Cool is the self-indulgent ensemble equivalent of Ocean's 12, yet it isn't a disappointment in the way Ocean's 12 was. Retaining Get Shorty's wit, F. Gary Gray delivers a sleek, sexy follow up.
Vince Vaughn, Andre Benjamin, and The Rock standout with unique, "belly-laugh" performances. The script does fall short of the fiirst movie. Certain scenarios seem overdone and the dialogue doesn't always pack the same punch as Get Shorty, but overall it was an enjoyable film.
Here's just hoping this is the last one.
