Review of Be Cool (2005) by Adam M — 30 Oct 2010
Enjoyable sequel to 1995's Get Shorty with John Travolta reprising his role as the cooler than cool Chilli Palmer. This time, Chilli's bored of the film industry and wants to get involved in the music business, despite being aware of its many shady characters.
After discovering sexy singer Linda in the Viper Room in LA his mind is made up and he wants to make her a star. This is a fun watch as Travolta gets to do pull off some dance moves with Uma Thurman again, as well as fighting off competetion over Linda from Vince Vaughn and Harvey Kietel's music "big-wigs" and avoid trouble with some dodgy russians and gangster rappers as well as sort out a career for bodyguard Elliot, played brilliantly by The Rock who's funny as fuck! I was enjoying this film anyway but when Aerosmith made an appearance that made it even better! Christina Milian also does a good job as promising singer Linda.
It looks like everyone had fun making this movie and thats what makes it so entertaining. Fans of Get Shorty should love it!
