Review of Be Cool (2005) by Jessica H — 12 Sep 2011
Sequels that come a decade after the first installment don't have a really good track record when it comes to quality. Be Cool was not a total failure, but it was not as good as Get Shorty, however some of the cinematic elements remained.
Travolta's acting didn't get any worse over the years, and Uma Thurman did a fine job as well. Andre Benjamin, Cedric the Entertainer and Christina Milian also put on some good performances. Casting was certainly a strong point in this film, Steven Tyler was a fun addition.
The plot itself was fairly basic and not as enticing as the one featured in Get Shorty, but it kept me moderately entertained. There were some cool scenes here and there and the production value wasn't bad.
Overall it was a satisfactory picture with a mild plot, but definitely not worth watching more than once.
