Review of Baywatch (2017) by Emile H — 08 Jun 2017
Fun, but average. The star power of Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron is more than enough since the best moments are them on screen together, and its self awareness at its source material leads to often replicating the original show's ridiculousness well.
However, it's attempt to succeed the same way the 21 Jump Street movies did with their R rated shenanigans may go way over the head to viewers. As a result, not all the jokes land, but at least you know where it counts.
It's the typical summer movie fare, but what else do you expect from movie that spoofs a show where people look their hottest when they're saving lives?
