It is exactly what it is supposed to be, a cheesy comedy based off a cheesy TV show. Rock and Efron have good comedic chemistry. However, for having an, 'R' rating it should have taken advantage of the boundaries it had available.
This could have easily been PG-13 which would have killed it for me. I liked it because I got exactly what I expected. Anybody going to see it with high expectations obviously has never seen the TV series.
