Review of Baywatch (2017) by Garrett P — 23 Jul 2017

With every positive Baywatch proposes it results in a very lacklustre fashion. From the characters, comedy and plot. It's all too much, trying too hard to impress and wanting desperately to be liked and theirs something rather tedious about that.

The jokes are lowest common denominator, aiming at sex jokes, almost begging its audience to like what's on offer. Performances are good but everyone is rather unlikable and the forced cameos are horrible, Johnson and Efron have great dynamics and Daddario is the only real likeable and fun portrayal.

It's also far too self aware for its own good and while it plays well with that on a few occasions, it got tedious after a constant 90 minutes.
