Review of Baywatch (2017) by Paul D — 24 May 2017
This is a stupid movie.
It was intended to be a stupid movie.
It's plot is very simplistic. There are essentially NO surprises in the movie.
I said "essentially NO surprises" because I'm surprised that any critics expected anything more from the film than what is there.
Given all that, the movie is humorous and has some good action moments, and the performances are (for the most part) good or very good.
All of that said, I don't recommend this film for two reasons:
1. Foul language. It is absolutely unnecessary and only detracts from the film along with limiting the audience that might see it.
2. Filthy humor. There are only a few of them, but they are utterly worthless and could easily have been excised from the film and (again) improve the quality of the movie and expand the audience.
If the movie ever aired on broadcast TV where these are edited out, maybe it will get a lot more fans. Time will tell.
Better watch the new "Pirates" movie instead, yes? Anybody?
