Review of Baywatch (2017) by Leon B — 06 Jul 2017
As Baywatch (2017) began, I was excited. The title screen was over the top and hilarious which I thought would be setting the tone for the rest of the movie. For the first 40 minutes or so, I was entertained. Watching The Rock and Zac Efron's characters butt heads and competing was all this movie had going for it.
After that, the movie takes a turn for the worse and starts to take itself more seriously as a weird crime/drama/action/spy hybrid, never quite sure on what genre it was trying to fit in to.
The villain for the "Victoria" played by Priyanka Chopra, might be one of the most poorly acted characters I have seen in a long time. At one point she made me let out an audible "Ugh..." in the cinema, her acting was that bad.
