Review of Battling Butler (1926) by Katherine R — 04 Sep 2007
I tend not to enjoy the films where Buster plays such high class characters, though he can be credited with being a good silent film actor (besides a brilliant comedian and director). The plot also suffers from one of those facrical mistaken identities Buster himself wasn't overly fond of.
Despite these weaknesses, the film is carried by a string of smart gags, peaking with a truly action-packed boxing sequence. While not as compulsory as other Buster Keaton films, it's amusing and worth a look.
